Rocket Internet moving into Real Estate Classifieds

Global rollout of Lamudi real estate platform

Lamudi, the emerging market real estate classifieds player, officially launches operations in twelve countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Further country launches will take place in the upcoming weeks and months.

Backed by the German incubator Rocket Internet, Lamudi launched several real estate services under different brand names in various markets over the past five months. Leveraging Rocket Internet’s expertise in IT and online marketing, Lamudi was able to reach market leadership in most countries shortly after opening its website. Following the early success, the company has decided to continue its global roll out and adopt the Lamudi brand name globally.

Erwin Sikma, CEO of Lamudi Asia: “Over the course of the past months, we successfully developed our real estate websites in several markets. The amount of traffic on our websites increased extremely fast which has allowed us to already sign many of the big real estate developers and agents in each of our countries. The feedback from real estate developers, agents and customers has been unanimously positive. We are very bullish on the real estate classifieds market and aim to establish ourselves as the new number one in emerging markets. In particular with the support and knowledge from Rocket Internet, we will grow Lamudi very fast.”

Whether people are looking for properties for rent or for sale, the internet platform Lamudi enables customers to easily find or sell their house, apartment, commercial property or land online. At the same time, property providers and agents get a trusted online presence through a personalized webpage. Key characteristics of Lamudi are its diverse property offers, the intuitive website set-up and the high security standards to avoid fraud. The business platform operates under a high level of transparency through professional photos, updated listings, detailed descriptions, reports and rankings for 100% of its properties in each market. The Lamudi platform helps brokers to manage their inventory fast, easy and stress-free.

About Lamudi was founded in 2013 and is currently available in Algeria, Bangladesh, Colombia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Uganda. The real estate marketplace offers sellers, buyers, landlords and renters the ideal platform to find homes, land and commercial property online.
